Izvidnica is an anonymous music project from Belgrade focusing on experimentation in the heavy music realm. After independently releasing four albums since 2021, their fifth – reljef – will be the inaugural Narav release.

Thematically invoking barren landscapes and cryptic references to the underworld, reljef is darker and moves at a slower pace than izvidnica’s previous releases. Edited down from long-form sessions, the album oscillates between meditative, trance-like sections and cathartic distorted outbursts. Through the use of a downtuned and heavily processed bass guitar, izvidnica takes us on a noisy, out-of-focus journey through tectonics and death.

Even though reljef can be broadly characterised as experimental metal, there is a brooding intimacy in these recordings. We get the feeling that these pieces are like excerpts from diary entries, and perhaps if one of Schrader’s “God’s Lonely Man” was writing them with a bass guitar, it might sound something like this.

For this first release on Narav we will be doing a digital release and a limited 20 edition cassette run.
